GUANDU NATURE PARK
Only a quick 30 minutes trip to reach from Taipei city center, Guangdu Nature Park is a xanadu a perfect place to renew body and mind. Just imagine you are standing in a broad wild land surrounded by rivers and mountains, birds are flying over your head, and reeds are swaying like waves, you would know how wonderful the park is and how much it may release you from the noisy city world. 

Situated at the junction of Danshui River and Jilong River, Guangdu Nature Park is a great habitat for migrant birds and aquatics. In the park, 229 species of birds has been sighted so far, including migrant birds and native water birds. During autumn and winter, the park is vital for thousands of migrant birds visit in turn. 

As a famous paradise of bird-watching hobbyists, the park offers various educational services to lead people into ecological beauty, as well as an observational area which has telescope services. 

Since Guandu was once an important shipping center of Danshui River in old times, the park also has some cultural conservation areas showing the traditional life style of Taiwanese people, including paddy fields, duck raisings, and aquatic catches. These historic remains will be shown in Guandu Culture Museum which is still under construction.


【Weekend Scheduled Tour】

The volunteer narrators will lead you into the world of birds.

Center Tour: 10:00, 11:00, 15:30, 16:30 on weekends. 
The Constructed Wetland Tour: on weekends, inquire at the Information Desk.


【Guadu Culture Museum----Egret Storytelling Show】

How is people’s life style like in Guangdu at old times? How did they make houses by couch grasses? What role did the sampans play in the old society? The Egret Storytelling Show will bring tourists into the historic cultural beauty. The show is regularly held from 15:00 to 16:00 every third and forth Sunday,

【Family Holiday DIY Program】

Show parents and children to create functional artistic work by natural materials, and further family’s relationship through the artistic activities. The program is held from 14:00 to 16:00 every first and second Sunday.


【Little teal Storytelling】

What is going on in the Nature? The teal brothers and sisters would like tell children interesting stories of the Nature, as well as lead children to read picture books. Parents are welcomed to join the program with their children. The Program is held in every Saturday afternoon (13:30-14:00, 14:30-15:00).


【Regular Exhibitions in Nature Center】

Show tourists the ecological system of wetland by the regular exhibitions on the first floor. Tourists may also join the constructed wetland tours. The professional guide services are available on every weekend. Please see http://www.gd-park.org.tw for further information is shown on.

【Operating Hours】

1. Weekdays: 9:00-17:00 (no entry after 16:30)
2. Weekends: 9:00-18:00 (no entry after 17:30)
3. Closed on Mondays and Chinese New Year's Eve.

【Transportation】

By Metro:
Take the Danshui Line to Guandu Station, then take transfer buses R35 or S23 or walk (10 minutes).

By Bus:
Take bus 302 to Guandu Junior High School station, and then follow the school fence to the park (3 minutes).

By Car:
Parking is available.
